A pioneer tea plantation and marketing company in Sri Lanka, Watawala Plantations Limited, is a joint venture with the world famous TATA Group, which owns UK's No.1 tea brand "Tetley".

It manages 16 of the finest tea gardens in the island, spreading across 12,500 hectares of land and employing 15,000 people. The total extent of the Company is 12,443 Ha., of which 5,636 Ha.,(45%) is planted in Tea, 1,423 Ha.,(11%) in Rubber and 2,129 Ha., (17%) with Oil Palm. The remaining extent of 3,253 Ha., (26%) is under cultivation or under grass for future replanting with Tea.
